A Different Kind of Financial Consultancy
We started hyper-crypt because we believed Manchester deserved a financial consultancy that treated people as individuals, not account numbers. Twelve years later, that belief still drives everything we do.
Our Story
hyper-crypt was founded in 2014 by a small group of financial professionals who shared a common frustration: too many people were being underserved by the financial advice industry. The traditional model favoured those with substantial wealth, leaving everyone else to navigate complicated decisions alone.
We set out to change that. Our founders pooled their experience from banking, accounting, and financial planning to create a consultancy that would work differently. The focus would be on education and empowerment rather than dependency. Fees would be transparent and accessible. And every client, regardless of their balance sheet, would receive the same quality of attention.
Starting from a small office in the Northern Quarter, we have grown steadily through word of mouth and referrals. Today we work with over 850 individuals and businesses across Greater Manchester, but our core approach remains unchanged: understand first, advise second, and always explain the reasoning behind our recommendations.
What We Believe
These principles shape every interaction we have and every recommendation we make.
Financial Literacy is a Right
Everyone deserves to understand how money works. We break down complex concepts into clear, actionable knowledge because informed clients make better decisions.
Trust Through Transparency
No hidden fees, no confusing jargon, no conflicts of interest. We earn trust by being completely open about how we work and how we are compensated.
People Before Portfolios
Numbers tell part of the story, but understanding the person behind them is what enables truly useful guidance. We take time to know our clients as individuals.
Long-Term Thinking
Quick fixes rarely serve anyone well. We focus on sustainable strategies that build genuine financial resilience over time rather than chasing short-term wins.

Our Journey So Far
The Beginning
hyper-crypt opens its doors in the Northern Quarter with three founding members and a vision to make quality financial guidance accessible to everyone in Manchester.
Growing the Team
Demand leads us to expand. We bring on two additional consultants and launch our small business finance programme, responding to requests from local entrepreneurs.
New Home
We move to larger premises near Piccadilly to accommodate our growing client base and team. The move allows us to host financial education workshops for the first time.
Adapting to Change
The pandemic accelerates our digital capabilities. We develop remote consultation systems that allow us to support clients regardless of circumstances while maintaining personal connection.
Recognition
Named among the top independent financial consultancies in the North West by Business Manchester magazine. More importantly, we celebrate helping over 700 clients achieve their financial goals.
A Decade of Service
Ten years since founding. We mark the anniversary by launching our community financial literacy initiative, bringing free workshops to underserved areas of Greater Manchester.
Our Commitment to Manchester
This city made us. From our early days in the Northern Quarter to our current work across Greater Manchester, we remain committed to serving this community. We donate 2% of our annual profits to local financial literacy programmes and offer pro bono consultations to Manchester-based charities.
Professional Standards
We hold ourselves to the highest professional and ethical standards.
